SAM JEWISON SINGS THE GREAT BRITISH SONGBOOK
Following his sold-out show at the 2022 EFG London Jazz Festival, Sam Jewison returns with a brand new show celebrating the British Jazz Songbook.
The singer and pianist explores the penmanship of legendary British songwriters, including George Shearing, Leslie Bricusse, Ray Noble, Noël Coward, and many more. Like its American cousin, the Songbook comprises works from music theatre and film, as well as classic popular song, many of which have endured as standards: “A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square”, “Pure Imagination”, and “Lullaby of Birdland”, to name but a few.
